Ayurvedic Respiratory Tonic

( Productive version, with mucus)

For respiratory congestion, excess mucous, chronic snoring;

mucus with a cold, asthma, bronchitis or a cough.

Take 1 tsp frequently, with 2-3 tbsp warm water & honey, like a syrup.

For asthma, chronic respiratory congestion, and chronic cough with mucus. Helps with all breathing issues, including snoring with mucus, wet cough, and/or nasal congestion. It's a heating formula with strong bronchodilators, expectorants, and decongestants based on the traditional Ayurvedic formula Talisadi Churna.

Vasaka is an effective bronchodilator that helps with breathing. Tulsi is a pungent, warm herb known to help with respiratory conditions, colds, the flu, and respiratory mucus. Guduchi is an anti-inflammatory, helping modulate the immune system, and supports the formula. Pushcarmuul is a root that is known to reduce mucus and clear the lungs and open the airway of the lungs. Abhrak Bhasma is a mineral mica that works as a catalyst and makes the whole formula more potent and effective.

Generally, this will be used for Kapha, kapha vata, kapha pitta type, or a vata kapha type if the condition is not dry; otherwise, the other formula without mucus should be used. It is not expected to be used on pitta-dominant persons unless mucus is high, but in this case, the length of time it would be used would be shorter.

If the breathing is dry with little mucus, you should consider Respiratory Tonic for asthma without much mucus.

Take 1 tsp in about 1/8 cup warm water with lots of honey so it's syrupy. Don't drink water after taking the herbal syrupy tea; just let it go down the throat and stay. Take it throughout the day. Lots of dosages throughout the day are better than once a day.

Formula should be taken 3 or 4 times daily. If the condition does not improve, keep increasing the amount of the formula. Slowly reduce the amount given as symptoms subside.
